[DK] En hyggelig samtale Permanent link to this post with (0 comments )

Boss #1 says:
Jeps
Boss #1 says:
Den må man sige.
Boss #1 says:
Hvad siger du til den?
Boss #1 says:
Bruger du www.comedy.dk?
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
ja
Boss #1 says:
Ikke www
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
jo
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
den kommer snart til at pege på stand-up.dk
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
fbi får ny side
Boss #1 says:
Ok, nedern
Boss #1 says:
Ok, er du med i FBI?
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
Boss #1 says:
Ok
Boss #1 says:
Trist for mig
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
hvad ville du bruge det til?
Boss #1 says:
Boss #1 says:
En slags database.
Boss #1 says:
For at give overblik
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
så er det vist godt at du ikke fik det...
Boss #1 says:
Hehe hvorfor?
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
så tænk over det
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
Boss #1 says:
Med det samme altså.
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
jo
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
stand-up.dk udsendelserne
Boss #1 says:
Ja
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
så fuck dig
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
og farveller
Boss #1 says:
Jo tak
hartvig - umbraco.dk says:
må anti-pirat gruppen fange dig
[boss #1 blocked]

Arena and moving further to open source umbraco Permanent link to this post with (0 comments )

I attended an open space meeting hosted by mygdal about using some nice available office spaces to create a 3rd place (a place between home and work - a place for innovation, inspiration and other nice words)... It was extremely inspirering, but a really nice thing was seeing Mr. Pinds again. I ask him if he had the time, to meet up and discuss how he's company open sourced their product... I'm thinking about doing the very same with my content management platform/conversation system umbraco... And hurray - he said yes :-)

Weblogs are better than any media Permanent link to this post with (0 comments )

I'm a great fan of weblogs and have done for a very long time, but in these days where some part of the world seems to have gone mad, I love them even more. If you take the time then the combination of Weblogs and great search engines, makes it possible for you to get so many angles on a story like the "Iraq-crisis". If I only listen to radio and television or only read newspapers, chances are that I probably would think almost any american would be out of control... But weblogs makes it possible for me to not only find out that it isn't true, but also how many thoughts and angle this situation has...

Nokia != Bluetooth Permanent link to this post with (0 comments )

I wonder why Nokia don't think bluetooth is essential - their newest business phone 6220 (a true beauty by the way) - doesn't have bluetooth build-in according to the specs. What a bummer... And at the same time they release a digital pen which communicates with phone through... well, surprise - bluetooth. So buy it if you have a SonyEricsson ;-)

Apple dammit - can't you see... Safari needs ContentEditable Permanent link to this post with (0 comments )

Dan Gillmor: Monopoly's Semi-Helpless Helpers - a rant about why so few people are making windows only versions - started by a disappointment over Oddpost's brilliant webmail tool that is windows/ie only.

OddPost - just like a lot of other web based products - is windows/ie only because of the contentEditable feature in Internet Explorer. It's a property enabling developers in a very simple manner to make almost anything on a webpage rich text editable. This is why so many Content Management Systems is windows/ie only or only offers simple editing on other platforms - I guess anybody who have seen a CMS demoed heard a sales man saying: "Look - it's just like using Word"; kudos to Microsoft for making that feature available - not to any cms vendor.

I'm suffering on this problem with my umbraco product which is a Content Management Platform. I use contentEditable heavily and I've tried and tried to integrate dhtml and java editors (both open source and commercial OEM products) to offer support for Mac/*nix platforms. But when everything comes up, I've concluded that it's not enough for me that it works - I want a good and stable user-experience and I'm sorry to conclude that no java/dhtml editors have come up to this.

So what's next? Well, *nix support in umbraco is pretty much down the drain for now, but I still believe in Mac. Their products get better and better, and I really hope that their user base will grow - they deserve it. But then there's still this missing contentEditable-feature. I don't think it ever will come in Internet Explorer for Mac - it's complicated and an overwhelming benefit for Windows to be the only OS supporting this feature. So I think it's a must have for Safari - Apple's own browser - to get contentEditable or a similar feature. Until that happens I'm researching in building a custom app for Mac using the brilliant developer tools offered by os x. All critical function calls in umbraco are available through XML-RPC or SOAP anyway, so by combining the umbraco-web services with some custom Mac-glue, I might be able to offer the user-experience I want...

New cameraphone from sonyericsson Permanent link to this post with (0 comments )

SonyEricsson T610. So they make a phone ready to compeed with the finish empire, that has everything you need - except support for extra flash-memory-cards - and then they make it so bud ugly... bummer :-( Update: Rumours talking about the camera only provide half vga resolution (320x240)... if that's correct, it's a TRUELY horrible place to save cost IMHO.

Winer on Microsoft again (but a good one this time) Permanent link to this post with (0 comments )

"It's just corporate arrogance". Dave Winer rants on the way Microsoft is trying to get everybody to love their XML-development tools, probably only to make them yet another ms-de-facto standard and then make stuff ms compatible instead of the open-stuff that we want it to be... Nothing new from the old geezer, but this time he actually got a good angle and point!
